She is supposed to have gone over to America some time after about 1890 to fetch her widowed daughter Anna Friedrich and grandsons Eugen Hermann and Otto back to Germany, but I haven't found her on a passenger list yet. But if she's just listed as Johanna Schmidt there might be too many possibles. Edit - since they don't seem to have been in America in the first place, I don't think this ever happened.

Two columns from her marriage certificate, the first is her name, date and place of birth, the second I haven't deciphered yet. I don't think I have the column headings but will check:
