Name - "official" name and what they were known as John Allan
Date and place of birth 1782, Langrig, Eccles, Berwickshire, Scotland
Names of parents Peter Allan and Mary Lookup
Date and place of baptism - if applicable 26 Aug 1782 Eccles, Berwickshire
Details of each of his or her marriages - if any 12 Dec 1808 at Coldstream, to Ann Fowler
Occupation(s) - if any Agricultural Implement Maker / Plough Maker
Addresses where they lived (including county if in UK) - and please list which censuses you have or haven't found him/her on (if s/he lived in census times!).
1841 and 1851 - Town Head, Workington, Cumberland

Date, place and cause of death 1856 Workington, Cumberland
Date and place of burial. Not found
Details of will / administration of their estate - if applicable Not found
Memorial inscription - if any Not found

There are two possible death registrations on FreeBMD:
John Allan Sep 1856 Cockermouth 10b 265
John Allan Sep 1861 Cockermouth 10b 330

But if it is the second of these, he should be on the 1861 census and I can't see him. So probably the 1856 death.

Had a look on the Index to Death Duty Registers and there is an entry in 1856 for John Allan, Workington - executor C Allan & ano. My John had an unmarried daughter Catherine, so that looks like the right entry.

And I've found a child of John Allan and Anne Blair baptised in Ednam, Roxburgh, in 1812, so my Ann must be Ann Fowler.
