Ooh, excellent.
That Slater family correspondence on the TNA site looks very interesting to give some background information about the period. The Rectory looks very nice - not a bad place to stay while you're researching your tree |

Thanks unfortunately it says victorian so too late to be the actual house where they lived. I have had a look at Kemp baptisms in Belton and if the family stayed put I think I can get back to 1709.
Update my rootschat contact has just given me a baptism for Everard Hill 15 Jul 1782 in Uppingham parents James and Mary so I am back another generation on that line too. I like this new challenge. Last edited by anne fraser; 04-02-10 at 19:01. |
