I've had a quick search on these (still without a sub) and have found a few names that might be mine. But bearing in mind that I can't see a date etc. they're fairly common names and I'm wondering if there's anything else on the records that might narrow it down a bit, such as occupation or address?

Not on the ones I have looked at so far, Sue. But there might be an entry in the London Gazette, or another old newspaper, with more information.

Thanks Kite.
I wonder if you could have a quick look for me at the Marshalsea Records for a John William Dibley, he is also transcribed as Diblay. I have a John William Dibley in my tree who as far as I know didn't end up in prison. Could be wrong of course! He did however have a cousin Adam Smart Dibley also known as William Dibley who was bankruopted several times and I'm wondering if it's him under yet another name. Thanks

Thanks. Found ex's gt x 4 grandfather Samuel Price Denison, who I knew from the London Gazette had been declared bankrupt.
