Default Patrick HIGHLAND

Name - "official" name and what they were known as
Patrick Highland / Hyland
Date and place of birth
31 October 1741 Marylebone Middlesex
Names of parents
Richard Highland and Elizabeth (nee Coldham)
Date and place of baptism - if applicable
1 Nov 1741 St Marylebone Middlesex
Details of each of his or her marriages - if any
Married Ann - no details found
Occupation(s) - if any
According to his children's baptisms, he was a weaver. However, I've also found an apprenticeship in 1756 for Patrick Highland to Samuel Jaumaud, 'citizen and skinner of London'. I haven't established yet if this is the same person or not.
Addresses where they lived (including county if in UK) - and please list which censuses you have or haven't found him/her on (if s/he lived in census times!).
Baptised 4 (possibly 5) children in Shoreditch / Spitalfields. I think I'm probably missing some children, as the ones I've found were born in 1763, 1768, 1771 (twins) and (possibly) 1787
Date, place and cause of death
Vine Street Spitalfields
Date and place of burial.
Christ Church Spitalfields 24 June 1802 age 60
Details of will / administration of their estate - if applicable
Memorial inscription - if any

Now I've looked more closely at this, it seems Patrick also went by the name of Peter - I've found another 5 births which fit nicely between 1771 and 1787.

I have come across Patrick and Peter being interchangeable quite a lot, Lindsay. You can search for P*t*r* on ancestry and maybe on other sites.

These are the baptisms I've seen for Patrick/Peter and Ann.

1 James, 1763, Christ Church Spitalfields, parents: Patrick and Ann.
2 Elizabeth, 1768, St Leonard, Shoreditch, parents: Patrick and Ann.
3 Mary Ann, 1771, St Leonard, Shoreditch, parents: Patrick and Ann.
4 Sarah, 1771, St Leonard, Shoreditch, parents: Patrick and Ann.
5 Ann Susanna, 1773, St Leonard Shoreditch, parents: Peter and Ann.
6 Jesse, born 1775, St Matthew, Bethnal Green, parents: Peter and Ann.
7 Richard, 1778, St Matthew, Bethnal Green, parents: Peter and Ann.
8 James, 1780, St Matthew, Bethnal Green, parents: Peter and Ann.
9 George, 1782, St Leonard, Shoreditch, parents, Peter and Ann.
10 Augustus Fox, 1785, St Mathew, Bethnal Green, parents, Peter and Ann.
11 Thomas, 1787, St Mathew, Bethnal Green, parents Patrick and Ann, but baptised in 1799.

I would have thought there would have been a son named Patrick or Peter. There is a burial for a Peter Highland in 1767, but it's at St Pancras Old Church, which doesn't fit the geography.

Oh - and I saw a record that said Elizabeth Coldham was from Petersham in Surrey.

Likewise. He could have been born pre 1763, as I don't have Patrick and Ann's marriage, or there's a gap 1763-1768 where he'd fit.

I also have the Wills of Patrick's parents, which are interesting. His mother left the interest on £250-worth of 'Old South Sea annuities' to Ann - 'free of control or intermeddling' by her husband Patrick or any other husband. Patrick had to make do with £15.

Peter Highland appears on Land Tax records for St Matthew, Bethnal Green, in 1780 and 1781 renting from Elizabeth Petley. In subsequent records (1789, 1795, 1795, 1801), the owner seems to be Mrs Brown.
