William Grimshaw Born 1854 Scotland
Hi,
This is my GG grandfather that my mum has been struggling with doing her tree, William was born in Scotland and subsequently moved to Lancashire and married Ann. This is the only info I can find Scottish files do not seem to be the same. I am looking for his marriage and his birth but cannot find anything at all and I have the full version of Ancestry. I know how good you guys are at getting stuff so far he has got me going potty  Any help The line goes like this Me - My mum (Christine Eccleston) - William Eccleston(grandad) - Annie Grimshaw Great granny - William Grimshaw Great great grandad.

Been onto scotlands people found only 1 William Grimshaw and age is 6 years out ?? So I am trying to find William's marriage to Ann Grimshaw

Could you give us details of your great grandmother, Annie Grimshaw, who married Mr Eccleston, please?

This could be her parents, but easily might not be!

Once you have Ann's birth cert and have found and purchased her parent's marriage you will be better placed to go further (or to confirm my posts).
1871 possible: http://search.ancestry.co.uk/Browse/...lliam+Grimshaw and http://search.ancestry.co.uk/iexec?h...=&pid=27619911 Note the children's birthplaces - they may be in Scotland in 1861. I'm not surprised the parents are from Lancashire as I associate the name Grimshaw with that part of the country.
