Default James Paines MFMFFF

Name - "official" name and what they were known as – James Paines/Pains

Date and place of birth – about 1795, place unknown.

Names of parents – not known, but see below

Date and place of baptism – I found a baptism of a James Paines on 12 June 1796 at Henbury, Gloucestershire. Mother listed as Lucy Paines. (England, Births and Christenings, 1538-1975 on Family Search) This doesn't tally with his age at death, which would make him born in 1780/81, so probably not my James.

Details of each of his or her marriages – to Ann Foot on 11 Oct 1813 at Clifton, Gloucestershire. (England & Wales marriages 1538 – 1940 on Ancestry)

Occupation(s) – Smith (on son James’s baptism in 1825).
Mechanic (on daughter Ann’s baptism in 1831)
Coach smith (on son Joseph’s marriage cert in 1837)
Locksmith on 1841 census.

Addresses where they lived (including county if in UK) - and please list which censuses you have or haven't found him/her on (if s/he lived in census times!).
Son Joseph born in Bath, Somerset in 1819
1825 - King Street, Seven Dials, London (son’s baptism)
1831 – Rose Street, Westminster (daughter’s baptism)
1841 census – 12 Rose Street, Westminster, London

Date, place and cause of death – possibly July qtr 1847, St Martins, London Probably 21 August (on FMP)

Date and place of burial - probably 29 August 1847, St Martin in the Fields, Westminster, Middlesex (Thanks to Sue from Southend )

Details of will / administration of their estate – not known

Memorial inscription – not known

And Ann Paines aged 72 of Rose Street (possibly number 18, not clear), buried at St Martin in the Fields 20 July 1854.

Also a child, Ann Paines aged 6, of Rose Street buried 28 June 1829, St Martin in the Fields

Ooooh thanks Sue

I looked on FMP and I didn't see those

I found a baptism for Ann Paines in 1831. Maybe she was named after her dead sister? I'll have to look for an earlier baptism for an Ann.

Thanks again
