Charlotte Street is still there I walked down it the other day its the Shoreditch/Hoxton end of Old Street actually my dentist is practically on the corner. OH's relatives lived there at times. Not sure if 69 is still standing but a lot of the buildings down there have been there a long time. Some remain.

Yeah I know where it is I don't live far from it.

Yes it is Charlotte Road. Does it say Street on your census then? Maybe they've changed the name it was road on the census I have for OH's can't remember which ones now.

Do you want me to have a look at the buildings down there perhaps take a photo, I know OH's ancestors abode has gone and I'm not sure how old the buildings are they look very old but it's a fashionable part of town now

This is a photo of Charlotte Road you can see the Gherkin in the City in the background I think 69 would have been to the left of the photo and bit of aways back I don't think the original building is there I think the one there is fairly new. That is looking from Old Street down towards the back of Liverpool St Station area so from Hoxton/Shoreditch towards the City of London.

Sorry I should say click on it to enlarge.

The daughter's name was Caroline Rebecca Payne.

There were 2 sons before her but they both died in 1845 (aged 11 & 8) Kiterunner found their burials for me. Edwin Richard & William Adolphus.

Off to look at your link now. Thanks Maggie

Bother! I've only got bog-standard Ancestry access and can't see your link.

I tried looking on Hugh Wallis but can't find it either - well, not under St Giles, or Cripplegate anyway.
EDIT: doh!! It was under the sub-heading 'London'

Will try familysearchrecordsearch now.

ooooo!!!!

I found it on the IGI (the 06-01-1805 christening - born on 07.03.1804)

BUT

I think this one is more likely - look at the names!

born 29.05.1806
chr 22.06.1806

parents: Richard Payne & Rebecca Wiggins

*does a happy little jig - thanks Maggie!!
