Oh, for goodness' sake! I have just realised that Theresia's baptism is in the "Geburts Register der unehelichen Kinder"! Meaning she was illegitimate! I knew she was in a separate book from the main one, but I had always assumed it was for a separate chapel or similar. She had a brother four years older and another one seven years younger than her, with the same parents, and I was wondering what that word was next to the younger brother's name. Finally realised! It seemed weird that her father's address was different from her mother's, but then it was the same for all the entries on the page... At last I looked at page 1 and all was revealed. I suppose I can stop looking for her parents' marriage now!

But, it turns out her parents did get married - in 1840! It says ledig, i.e. single, for both, so I wonder why they left it so long? He was 52 and she was 45.
