Someone has looked at my tree. If their line is correct, we are related. But the burial date for one mutual ancestor is unlikely, and for the other downright wrong. For the latter, I have an existing note explaining why it is wrong, on my tree.
Is there any point in contacting them?

*Sigh*
Yes. Contact them. Sometimes trees are like the curate's egg, good in parts. The death date might be wrong because they picked up the wrong death. They might be pleased to be corrected. Or they might not! You won't know till you contact them. OC |

I don't mind being told where my tree is wrong, but then I do my own research as well.
Lots of people don't care to be told they are incorrect, but you can only try. Leave a comment on their tree, then others may see it if they choose to investigate. |
