Default FindMyPast vs Ancestry

My Ancestry sub is due to expire in a week. I have the UKHeritage one with Australia.

Now I see some info on FMP I want to look at. I know I can pay by view for 1921, but there is other info as well.

I can’t afford both subs, so wondering what I will be missing if I leave Ancestry and just do FMP. I do have my DNA on Ancestry as well.

I managed to survive for three months without Ancestry and have just renewed. DNA is not providing amazing results but it's useless without a sub.
Find my past is great for newspapers and it understands English geography far better than Ancestry
It also flags that you've seen a record before.

I'm in same position Libby - and cancelled Ancestry last week as I didn't want it to automatically renew. Now waiting to see if I can find a good deal

Yes I hoped for more from my DNA results but seems the line I'm interested in either have no trees to compare or aren't interested in genealogy.

I understand Ancestry will be releasing the 1921 census in January as FMP's contract expires at the end of this month.

that would explain the new ad on ancestry - "something is coming". All done in a very Art Deco style

2021 was released 6 Jan 2022 on FMP. With a three year primacy clause in the contract, Ancestry launch it 7 Jan 2025.

Yes 1921 (amended as I put 2021 my mistake) census is coming to ancestry in next couple of days.

Also my subscription finished and I've been offered a 50% discount on ancestry which I've taken up.

The 2021 census is definitely not coming to Ancestry for a long time!
