My mother was the same OC and I think it was a generational thing as friends tell the same story. She would happily talk about her childhood with her brother and sister and the things they did with their parents but if I asked about family background all I would get was "I don't know. Why on earth do you want to know that anyway". OK, it turns out that her father had an illegitimate daughter and one of her grandmothers was an alcoholic, both things that would probably be seen as shameful to anyone born before WW1but, knowing her as I did, to my mother in particular.

I really enjoyed it and found it very interesting. How lucky to have seen their passports. It was very sad that his grandfather felt he had been abandoned by his mother, when it seems that she was only trying to do the best for him.
I am also no fan of Gemma Collins, but will try and watch to see if they find anything interesting.
