Default Alexander brodie

Name:
Alexander Brodie.
Date and place of birth:
25 April 1803 in Dysart, Fife.
Names of parents:
Robert Brodie and Grizel Thomson.
Details of each of his or her marriages:
1) Margaret Morgan - died 1832
2) Relationship with Christina Morris
3) Jean Geddes, 30 June 1840 in Kirkcaldy

Note: I'm descended from Alexander Brodie's illegitmate daughter, Alexandrina Brodie, born to Christina Morris. Christina never married.
Supporting evidence:
1 Alexandrina Brodie's name. Feminising a male name and using the father's surname either as a middle name or last name was used for illigitmate births.
2 Alexadrina was born in Kirkcaldy, where Alexander worked.
3 On Alexandina's marriage certificate, Alexander Brodie is named as her father. His occupation is listed as a clerk. Alexander Brodie worked as a 'writer' before becoming harbour master

Occupation(s):
Writer, then collector of harbour dues and finally harbour master in Kirkcaldy.
Death certificate says: 'Proprietor of houses, formerly collector of shore dues.'
Addresses where they lived (including county if in UK) and please list which censuses you have or haven't found him/her on (if s/he lived in census times!):
1851 census: High Street, East Port, Kirkcaldy, Fife.
1861 census: 465 High Street, Kirkcaldy, Fife.

1862 voter's list: Kirkcaldy, plus additional property at Relief Street, Dysart. Also appears on the 1863 and 1864 voter's list for same place of abode and addtional properties.
Date, place and cause of death:
31 March 1874 at Carberry Cottage, Dysart. Pneumonia right lung.
Date and place of burial:
The Brodie family were buried in Dysart St Denis. It was closed in 1868 when Dysart cemetery was opened. So this is the likely place of burial.
Details of will / administration of their estate - if applicable:
Left an estate worth £255. Next of kin and executrix: Miss Jane Brodie, residing at Dennistoun, Glasgow.
Memorial inscription - if any:
Not known.

Additional info is in purple - added following original posting.

Alexander Brodie's death certificate was signed by a nephew, Andrew Page, son of Alexander's sister, Ann. On this Andrew gives the names of Alexander's parents as Robert Brodie and Christina Brodie nee Thomson. This is incorrect as Alexander's mother was Grizel Thomson. However, it suggests that Christina Morris with whom Alexander had at least one illegitimate child, was known to the family.

He left and estate worth £255. The next of kin and executrix was Miss Jane Brodie. I haven't been able to connect her to Alexander.

The marriage is on FamilySearch - 30 Jun 1840 Kirkcaldy, Fife, Alexander Brodie and Jean Geddes.

This is bound to be the right one because Alexander and Jean have a daughter Grace age 5 and son Alexander age 1 on the 1851 census, and there is a baptism for Grace Brodie 6 Feb 1846, dob 6 Jan 1846, parents Alexander Brodie and Jean Geddes, and another for Alexander Brodie 13 Nov 1849, dob 2 Nov 1849, same parents.

There is also a Robert born 24 Jul 1842 and baptised 18 Aug 1842, and James born 12 Mar 1844 and baptised 3 Apr 1844.

Thank you for that - really appreciated.

My Fife pre-1855 Deaths CD had the following:

Burials - Kirkcaldy

25 April 1848 - Robert - son of Alexander Brodie (harbour master).
3 May 1848 - James - son of Alexander Brodie (harbour master).
29 November 1858 - Alexander - son of Alexander Brodie (harbour master).

AND...

23 November 1834 - Robert - daughter of Alexander Brodie (writer).
17 February 1835 - Grace - daughter of Alexander Brodie (writer).

I can't find any other Alexander Brodie in Kirkcaldy who is likely to be the father of these two children - eapecially as Alexander's parents were named Robert and Grizel. It may be that Robert, Grace and Alexandrina were siblings, whose mother was Christina/Christian Morris. However, I have no proof that Robert and Grace are the children of Christina Morris.

There is a tree on Ancestry which has the following information:

Alexander Brodie, son of Robert Brodie and Grizel Thomson, married Jean Park and had three children: John (b 1834), Grace (b 1846) and Alexander (b 1850). I sent a message to the three holder asking for sources, but no reply has ever been received.
