Some people are mentioning they now (July 2025), have the feature but some may have to wait until Dec 2025.
Early reports aren't encouraging especially for those with few matches above the minimum 65cM threshold and 'unassigned' matches are not included. Matches above 1300cM are not included so don't expect to find half siblings or grandparents in the results either. Blog post; https://www.ancestry.co.uk/c/ancestr...XuPFY7LDFrhvdm |

They are supposedly going to lower the threshold at some point in the future.

A long long time ago, there was an extension (Pedigree Thief ?) that you could run against your Ancestry matches.
I still have one group of about 30 marked Autocluster 2. I am pretty sure they are part of one of my Sussex families, probably the obvious one but none have very extensive tress and most of them are in the US. So they remain a mystery. Perhaps this new ProTool will be useful in sorting them out, especially with many new matches appearing to belong to the group having come onboard since I ran the clustering. I will probably have to wait until December, knowing my luck. But then I can have a month of Protools over the Christmas break and try it out. |

I have two mystery groups both with around 80 matches in them but only a handful meet the criteria. There are too many illegitimate and NPE births in my tree along with travelling showmen, vanishing AWOL soldiers and name changing individuals to overcome before I can find my true ancestors. Plenty of crimes and very few clues.
Nicky Campbell and Davina McColl could get a series or two out of it but it wouldn't be very entertaining. |

One group gave no results at all whilst the other eventually produced a cluster of 3 names.

Didn't even give me any clusters. Going off to sulk.

I got it today, but only two clusters, which were already obvious.
When you could still get Ancestry clusters through Genetic Affairs, there were loads of them. |

A friend who is much more knowlegeable in DNA than I and manages DNA for as many relatives as she can persuade to test has two nieces with very different cluster results. She says this is because she "hasn't put in the work" on one niece.
Does this mean that clusters rely on Ancestry trees, as opposed to the actual DNA?

Clusters don't use trees at all. The cluster feature is in beta at the moment and only uses a small range of cM amounts. It won't be anything to do with how much work she has put in.
