What does this mean on the 1939 register?
https://search.findmypast.co.uk/reco...18C%2F017%2F27
Or on ancestry https://www.ancestry.co.uk/imageview...5&pId=35803789 Harriet H Green b 6 Jul 1900 Then a remarriage as Hilda Harriet to Mr Phillips. Codes 24-6-68 which I presume is the date and CR Q83 LN I cannot find the marriage at all

I found this:
http://1939register.info/ Dates shown are usually not the date of the event, but seem to be the date of the update (or possibly the date on the form that triggered the update) · CR283 is a form that is used when there is a Change of Surname, Forename, or Date of Birth (most changes will be surname changes, of course) It's missing the Q though could it be a 2? |

It is showing her change of name, but it doesn't necessarily mean that she remarried. She could have just changed her name.

Thank you both. That actually makes sense. Her husband Edward Green went missing under suspicious circumstances.
https://www.theguardian.com/uk/1999/...hartleybrewer1 She wouldn’t have been able to remarry unless he was declared dead.

She may have married Morris Phillips the previous year in Poplar, as there is this death:
1984 PHILLIPS HILDA HARRIET 6JY1900 EPPING FOR 9 2405

Yes I saw that. The date of birth is a month out, July and it’s June on the 1939 register.
