Yes, FMP matched the closed records against the GRO deaths index recently and managed to open a lot of records from that.

As far as I know, you have to supply the address to get a record opened.

Unfortunately don't know the address only the area. Don't know who she would be living with either. She was born c1919 so won't open automatically for few years yet. As no idea if or who she married or if she's died already can't progress.

I assume this is a different person from the one you mentioned in post #4, then, Julie? If you want to PM me the info you have I could see if I can find anything.

In this post:

http://www.genealogistsforum.co.uk/F...&postcount=221

fmp tell Anstey Nomad that she doesn't need an address for a search of the closed records to be made.

On the same thread, post #228 shows a response from TNA suggesting they do need an address, but she never posted their reply to her response to that (if indeed there was one)

Thanks Kite - it is the same person but it came back unopened due to the name not matching.

I've asked for another closed record to be opened as I had credits but still no idea if that's the address where she was living. So now have to wait another 10 days.

That's very interesting that Anstey Nomad was told by fmp that she didn't have to provide an address for the FOI request but perhaps needs a dob which we haven't got only an approximate year. We know rough area though.

Only when we get a household can we (I'm helping someone with this) start providing death certificates and hope one eventually matches.

That seems rather mean. It's not like you are asking for the original.
