Ooh, Glen, I would never have recognised you!
I doubt you would recognise me, either, from my younger pics.

From left to right:

Somewhere in County Kerry, Ireland.
Circa 1958. I suppose I'm about 7.

This is the same year and place. My mum at the front, then my grandmother, Winifred May Harriet Clark, nee Maynard and trailing behind, my aunt, Betty Pauline Clark:

Same holiday and it was warm enough to go in the sea (my mum, left, aunt, middle, gran, right)!

If anyone thinks any or all these photos were actually taken at Eastbourne rather than on the Isle of Wight I would be very interested to know. If anyone can confirm they are Vetnor that would be good too! lol

Sorry I don't think that is Ventnor. It just doesn't look like any of the photos my MIL has of that time. I don't remember the wooden groins on the beach either and the pavement along the esplanade doesn't look right either.

I already had the bags under the eyes, now they're extra large trunks.

Knowing it is you I can see the likeness Liza.

Well, I never saw any bags, Glen. I just have very dark circles under my eyes these days. The concealer gets well used.

So, Eastbourne then?

Mum only had the two holidays, so must be one or the other. She wrote Ventnor on the backs, but she could easily be mistaken.

I may be wrong Merry, but it just doesn't look right to me.

I was hoping you'd come and look Wendy! I had wondered if the photos were taken in a different town on the Isle of Wight if it wasn't for the dressing gown and slippers shot!

It's just occurred to me that these pics don't include their dog who went on one of the holidays and was in disgrace for eating the bed linen in the guesthouse, so mum might remember where that was and then this should be the other place!!
