Default Baptism confusion help!

I came across these baptism records whilst looking for my relative. They may or may not be for the right peson, but whatever, I am finding them very confusing (All from Ancestry):

England & Wales, Christening Index, 1530-1980 (transcription only)

Name: John Saunders
Gender: Male
Christening Age: 0
Birth Date: 24 Mar 1798
Christening Date: 3 Apr 1798
Christening Place: Hinton Blewett, Somersetshire, England
Phillimore Ecclesiastical Parish Map:
View this parish
Father: William Saunders
Mother: Ann Saunders

England, Select Births and Christenings, 1538-1975 (transcription only)

Name: John Saunders
Gender: Male
Birth Date: 24 Mar 1798
Baptism Date: 3 Apr 1798
Baptism Place: Shortwood, Somerset, England
Father:
William Saunders
Mother:
Ann

Bristol, England, Non-Conformist Baptism, Marriage and Burial Registers, 1644-1981 (image)

Name: John Saunders
Gender: Male
Baptism Age: 0
Record Type: Baptism
Birth Date: 24 Mar 1798
Baptism Date: 3 Apr 1798
Baptism Place: St Michaels, Bristol, Somerset, England
Religion: Roman Catholic
Father: William Saunders
Mother: Ann (formerly) Jones
Godfather William Hunt, godmother Martha Cox

I did find images of Hinton Blewett PRs on Ancestry but couldn't see the first entry in them (the page was difficult and the dates all over the place though). Not sure about Shortwood/Short Wood?

There's a marriage at Hinton Blewett in the 1790s for wm Saunders and Ann Jones. There are several children baptised there too who don't have a corresponding Catholic entry. One of them is:

John Saunders Baptism 27 Jun 1811 Hinton Blewett William, Ann

If that's the same couple, the other John probably died meaning he can't be mine.

I still think it's all very odd though.

Source for the Hinton Blewett baptism is "British Isles Vital Records Index, 2nd Edition" from FamilySearch.
Source for the Shortwood baptism is FHL Film Number: 1597372 IT 13

There is also another one in the England, Select Births and Christenings, showing the church as St. Michael's, Hinton Blewett, Somerset, England, also with film number 1597372.

So these all look like transcriptions by FamilySearch.

Looking up that film number and item number 13 on FamilySearch comes up with St Michael's Catholic Church, Shortwood. And clicking through from there came up with the information that "Shortwood is a hamlet in the parish of Hinton-Blewett."

The IGI used to have references to take you back to the source of their information. In the old days, the Bishop of Norwich would not let the Mormons get their sticky paws on original records, so everything came from transcripts and microform. I tracked some of the Norfolk stuff to its source and discovered that one microfilm might contain several parishes, but someone hadn't spotted the change.

Thanks Kate for linking everything together and Crawfie, if that's the John from 1798, I think I'll be quite glad to not be linked to this family!!

Onward and upward to see how many more John Saunders can be eliminated.
