Not much help for finding John, but could this be son George in 1841, living in South Witham, Lincs:

George Kelley, 20, Carpenter Ap, Born Lincs

(Seems to fit with him being a Wheelwright in later census)

HO107; Piece 624; Book: 13; Civil Parish: South Witham; County: Lincolnshire; Enumeration District: 4; Folio: 7; Page: 7

hmmm could be, Sabrina. He'd need carpentry skills to be a wheelwright.

Have just started doing a cyber trawl of Colsterworth in 1841.

Ah! I may have found John's widow and other sons, two of which are shoe makers. Can't read the name of forth son?

http://search.ancestry.co.uk/Browse/...worth.ALL.1.11

If it's them then George could have stated at his marriage that "father deceased"

Back to Colsterworth...

There's great coverage of Colsterworth on FreeREG Rosie.

Possible John's burial but he's older than you have him

St John the Baptist, Colsterworth
12 Dec 1836
John Kelly aged 63, Colsterworth

Also

15 Dec 1856
Elizabeth Kelly aged 77, Colsterworth

Their marriage is on there too, which was by licence, if you can get a copy that might have some help info.

That burial ties with this baptism

St John the Baptist, Colsterworth
24 March 1773
John Kelly son of William & Anne, Labourer, Woolsthorpe

Francis appears to be female not male!

Married 17 July 1842 St John the Baptist, Colsterworth
Richard Taylor, son of Robert
Frances Kelly, daughter of John

Also son John's marriage

Married 30 August 1842 St John the Baptist, Colsterworth
John Kelly, son of John
Ann Harris, daughter of William

Both these are from Lincolnshire 1837+ Marriage Indexes, under Grantham District
