Do you think Ann Button age 70 (i.e. 70-74) who is with the family in 1841 could be Samuel's mother? Have you found her in 1851 or found a death for her?

There is a death reg for an Ann Button in Orsett district (the district that South Ockendon was in) Jan-Mar 1849. If it's the right Ann, then Samuel might possibly be the informant on the death cert and it might say if he is her son.

Oh good spot Kite!

I must admit to being very lackadaisical with OH's tree as no-one else seems interested and I don't think I'd studied the 1841 that closely. It's certainly worth adding to my list of certificates to buy!

And thankyou for correcting my typo in the title too!
