I note that this last happened in August 2023.
Ancestry is rolling out a lot of changes at the moment, so Ethnicity updates may not be top of their priorities, but I note that they are now sufficiently confident to show percentage changes since the previous update (July 2022 for me) If, like me, you are more interested in the changes than the actual figures (over the years my 37% Scottish has come down to 11%, while my Irish has disappeared, despite Great Granny Riley, as has my Spanish) now might be the time to make a copy of the figures.

The new "Origins" update is in.
Mine seems to be more accurate, my Sweden/Denmark quota has disappeared and they've found Germanic Europe, which is correct. I still haven't any from France as I would expect but sister has. The good news is that you can compare the new results to the previous ones!

My Sweden & Denmark has also been moved to Germanic Europe, which is correct for me too. And the same for my Dad.

My Germanic Europe has been split and I now have 14% from the Netherlands, which is correct. I still haven't found any links to my supposed 4% Scottish, but as I have ancestors from Yorkshire, it's not unlikely that some Scots could have slipped in there.
The interesting thing is one of my sons who now has 1% North African on his paternal line. |

My origins update is quite inaccurate. The percentage of Scottish ancestry is too low and my Cornish, Devon and Dorset ancestry doesn't feature at all.

I'm too am not convinced by OH's ethnic update.
His Scottish ancestry is also too low and his Irish ancestry too high and where does Southern England come in as have found no-one from there. I have only found one connection to Ireland 2 x grandfather c1799 on father's side yet says there's also a connection of his mother's side which Ihaven't found.

My Scottish has become German and my Irish from Kerry has become Northern Ireland. Odd. Not sure how many Grants and Gordon’s are German. The last Germans I have is one set of 2 x great grandparents, so I expect some but 26% seems excessive.
No DNA from the south of Ireland yet my grandfather was from Kerry and the Brosnan have been there forever.

Well, it's even more inaccurate than before. No change in my non-existant 8% Scottish, but I'm suddenly 24% Germanic Europe. Meanwhile my cousin, with Murphys in her past has lost all her Irish ancestry.
And South West England no longer exists, we've all just got Cornish fragments.

Oh God, I just clicked to see "3 Stories" about my ancestral region England & Northwestern Europe, and the first one was about "Pancake Tuesday". Its correct name is Shrove Tuesday, and a lot of people call it Pancake Day, but I have never heard it called Pancake Tuesday. I was expecting it to be historical info about migration or something.
