There may be some censorship going on Ancestry with their indexing. So far I've found half a dozen entries relating to the Prick family at Barrow where they have left off the surname in the index even though they are perfectly readable. Be interesting to see how widespread it is, I suppose they don't like the fact the surname is a swear word. Will also be interesting to see if my corrections ever appear in the index. :-)

Well my cynicism about whether Ancestry would add my name corrections for the Prick without an e family from Barrow appears unfounded, since they now appear in the index. No idea why someone left off the surname but hay its Ancestry's delightful indexing. :-)

Interestingly you can't browse the registers through the search page but it is returning results through the main search. However, I know of some that exist which aren't showing but they are Archdeacon's Register Bills and I understood they were also being digitised. Hopefully they will appear at some point since there are quite a few for the two Sudbury parishes that don't start until the mid 1600s (or Ancestry has wrongly indexed them :-( )

Now if only the Wills and Admons would turn up sooner than later ....

Interestingly I tried search for a baptism entry in the Lavenham BTs which I know exists, but the first name is missing from the parish registers but exists in the BTs. Searched on the actual collection but it return the parish register entry. Definitely a work in progress, will have to be a little more patient.

The collection search page is unavailable now so they've obviously realised there is a problem with the collection, albeit still showing in the list of recently added and updated collections on the homepage.
