I think Kate, it's something I picked up from a relative a long time ago and I've never questioned it and something I hadn't thought about until now.

FreeREG shows they married on 23 Sep 1782, at All Saints Nunney. Witnesses Richard HODDINOTT and Richard PERKINS.

Susanna House witnessed the marriage of William Davis and Elizabeth Turner on 22 May 1785 also at Nunney.

There are some Nunney baptisms transcribed at

http://www.payman.pwp.blueyonder.co....s/odyframe.htm

but I cannot see William or Susannah.

My husband has a 7xg grandma Frances House - she married into the EZZAND/IZANT family from around Great Elm around 1700 - her children are recorded as "House alias Ezzand".

Di

PS I would have thought William was born closer to 1750 than 1760, as few men at that time married in their early twenties - most of mine were closer to 30, their brides too.

Thanks Di.
I believe William Davis was her brother.
