Default halfondeale

I have learnt a new term - halfondeale.

I have transcribed countless wills, but I hadn't met this before.

"More I give and bequeath unto Agnes Quintrell my beloved wife the moietie & halfondeale of the mill & tenement & dwelling house..."

You can't help wondering why they didn't just say "half".

It doesn't sound so fancy OC.

What's moietie? I'm sure I've heard of it but I can't remember.

A very fancy way of saying his wife gets half!

I googled and it only came up a couple of times in other wills.
