Default David Phillips MMMFFF

Name - "official" name and what they were known as – David Phillips

Date and place of birth – abt 1776, probably in Monk Sherborne area, Hampshire

Names of parents – Phillip Phillips and Ann (nee unknown)

Date and place of baptism – 5 May 1776, Monk Sherborne, Hampshire

Details of each of his or her marriages – to Ann Roffe, 23 July 1804, Monk Sherborne, Hampshire. Widowed in 1830.

Probable marriage to Elizabeth (unknown) between March 1830 & 1841 census, in St Clement Dane area. (??Poss marriage to Elizabeth Hawkes, AMJ qtr 1838 in Marylebone??. EDIT: Wrong marriage )Widowed in 1845.

Probable 3rd marriage to Caroline Szarka on 29 August 1851 at Wandsworth, London. (As found on public tree on Ancestry.)


Occupation(s) - Tailor

Addresses where they lived (including county if in UK) - and please list which censuses you have or haven't found him/her on (if s/he lived in census times!).
1818, on baptisms of son & daughter – Rose & Crown Court, Foster Lane, City of London
1841 census - 3 Crown Place, St Clement Danes, Westminster, London.
There is an Elizabeth Phillips aged 63 living at the same address. Is she his 2nd wife???
1851 census - St Clement Dane Almshouses, Garratt Lane, Streatham, London


Date, place and cause of death – September 1852, Wandsworth, London. Cause unknown

Date and place of burial - . 26 Sept 1852, Streatham St Leonards, London

Details of will / administration of their estate – not found

Memorial inscription – not known

The 1838 marriage in Marylebone is David Phillips / Sophia Dover, while Elizabeth Hawkes married James Denton. The David Phillips in that marriage is a bachelor, painter, father David Phillips, ship's carpenter.

Ok, thanks Kite, I'll amend the post.

I'll keep looking for a David Phillips marriage to an Elizabeth between March 1830 and the 1841 census.
