Changes to ThruLines

While, in the past, I could find no way to reject a possible but incorrect connection in ThruLines, the latest version seems to be expecting you to accept the connection without providing details of the sources. You just get the narrative, including one I investigated that suggested that a woman was four years old when she married!
Returning to the classic version, I was able to check things out, but this will be switched off from 1st October.
I find this frustrating as beginners and name collectors will continue to reinforce errors.
Is there any way to drill down, or do I have to abandon Thrulines as a tool?

It says BETA in the top left-hand corner of the screen and when I click on it, it says "This feature is still in development, and we’re working to make it better. Leave feedback (clickable link)". So I suppose you could give them your feedback.

Perhaps this is me being daft, but I've never seen anywhere you could reject Thrulines as I'd love to reject most of them as they are completely incorrect ??????

Neither have I. Which is daft. You can reject hints so you would think Ancestry would allow you to question errors in trees.

Very true Phoenix. It's a bit likely you can turn off the hints alert at the top right of the webpage but not the notifications one. That notifications alert is seriously annoying because its just hints by another name and even if you dismiss them, the same ones keep appearing day after day ???

The changes are cosmetic but underneath all the fundamental flaws are still there.

I've made several comments on their fb posts about the repetitive record and photo hints and how useless traits are for genealogy, the best they can come up with is to click 'ignore' to train the algorithm but after ignoring 2000+ photo hints last month I'm getting them all again as they spread over dozens if not hundreds of other trees. I don't have the will to ignore another 150 pages of them knowing they will come back again.

I've never bothered to even look at hints or notifications at the top of the page, once I realised they were mostly rubbish. Searching usually provides better info than hints.

The algorithms are 'trained' when hints are accepted but accepting the wrong hints, whether that be Thrulines or records trains confirmation bias into the algorithms. If 30 trees say one thing the AI overlooks the one tree that is different.

It can affect the tree checker too, names in my tree that I added two years ago that are fully sourced from birth to death and backed up by certs are suddenly being flagged as duplicates, I'm getting hints to other trees showing their burials which are decades after the deaths.

It drives me scatty, Glen. I am convinced, too, that Ancestry have to pay more to sources if we look at original images, rather than transcriptions, so they push us towards the latter. And that, of course, is where errors can arise.
I don't mind if a cousin thinks they are descended from Adam, Eve and Thor, but I do object if I suddenly find those names being suggested as my ancestors.
