They had 16 children, most or all of whom survived to adulthood. Occupation(s) - if any Labourer, carman, scavenger, dust contractor. In fact he was a 'golden dust man' (as in 'Our Mutual Friend') and ran contracts to clean the streets. Also owned a brickfield at Enfield. Addresses where they lived (including county if in UK) - and please list which censuses you have or haven't found him/her on (if s/he lived in census times!). 1820s - Weller Street / Weller Place St Pancras 1830s-1860s Turk Street/Tyssen Street Bethnal Green 1871 - Ponder's End 1881 census - can't find him 1882 - Foyle Road, Tottenham Date, place and cause of death 11 April 1882 Foyle Road Tottenham; senectus (age incorrectly given as 96) Date and place of burial. Witnesses at his wedding were Henry Harris and Francis (or Frances?) Carrington, if that's any help.

Henry Harris was the bride's father. I don't know who Francis Carrington was, but I just checked and a Francis Carrington married at the same church in 1756.
Too old to be the witness but ... On the other hand perhaps it's just a coincidence! |
