New Zealand passenger list1869?
I've been searching for a George Henry Cox, who was apparently born c1855 in Berkshire and emigrated to NZ.
A number of trees on Ancestry have him confused with my rellie, George Cox and I've had no luck finding this George Henry, so I wonder if he changed his name some time. His marriage cert. names my George's parents as his! but there is no George Henry listed with George's family. I'm attaching part of a document I was sent and have had no luck finding him on the passenger list. Any ideas please? It's driving me nuts. And I think I've put it in the wrong place. Apologies

There is a George Cox who travelled from Glasgow to Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, on the Rodell Bay, leaving 7 Apr 1877 and arriving 2 (or 4) Jul 1877, age 19. I haven't found an image yet, only indexes.

Could George Henry be Henry, the older brother of your George?

That's what I wondered but Henry's with his parents and some of the siblings on the 1871 census. Another possibility is John, who was born in 1849. This is why I was searching the passenger lists for anybody with that surname. Nothing comes up. Lutterworth doesn't appear anywhere.

But couldn't he (Henry) have emigrated after 1871?

I suppose so but the article says 1869.
Also, I have a Henry Cox on the 1881 census, born in the same town as the rest of the siblings.

Yes, I do have all the family info. All the children were born in Faringdon. It's just this very strange George Henry. So far, all I've been told about his birth is that he was born in Berks. The person in NZ is fairly new to family history and is searching through documents. She sent me his marriage cert. and he names his parents as my George's parents!
