Default Cheshire Wills 1530-1858 new on Ancestry

I will post the link but it doesn't seem to be working quite yet.

https://www.ancestry.co.uk/search/collections/62255/

Hopefully it will be working tomorrow.

Are these any different from those already available on FindMyPast?

Ancestry's index entries show people other than the testator / intestate, e.g. inventory takers, relatives and other people mentioned in a will, but as far as I can make out, you can't search the index for those names, just see them when you search for the name of the testator / intestate. Seems a bit strange.

Ah, o.k., if you do a "Search all records" and put the name of someone mentioned in a will, it does show you the Cheshire Wills and Probate entry. Just not if you search the specific index for that dataset.

The early wills are a mixture of Latin and English, in an appalling state. They certainly couldn't be produced in a searchroom. I wonder if Ancestry has used AI for the additional information? It seems a bit random. It would certainly be challenging for anyone to do manually.
