Oh, well done, Kate. I really should have known that anything involving the Holdens of Over Darwen wouldn't be straightforward!

Default 1796 burial of Richard Holden

Thanks for all your clear and accurate discussions.
The Burial for 1796 Richard, son of Edmund and Isabel was an error on Lancs OPC and has now been amended. That is..the burial has been removed.
On scrutinising the original parish registers I found it was a bit higgledy-piggledy and easy for a transcriber to get confused.
Your 1783/4 Alice DID have a brother Richard bt. 7 Sept 1796 to Ed/Isabel he married Hannah Aspden 22 Nov 1818 at Blackburn and they had 8 kids from 1818 to1838.
Richard died 1870 Edgworth and Ann 1878.

1788 Izabel Holden Md Joseph Yates 1810 and named their first born Edmund in 1811. They show up in 1841 at Round Barn, Entwisle with 8 kids.
Isabella , age 64 of Entwisle was buried at Darwen 16 July 1850.
1851 census at Round Barn, Entwisle shows Joseph a widower and names 6 of the same kids as in 1841.
So this Isabel Yates nee Holden seems to fit with your research.
Will of Edmund Holden 1853 mentions "....granted unto Isabella Yates (wife of Joseph Yates) the lawful daughter of the deceased his widow and relict having since died without administering .
Finer details in my "Holden" screed which I am happy to email you both.

Richard's baptism date is 24 Jul 1796:

Edmund's is 7 Sep 1794 so I think you have mixed the two up a bit.

Geoff

I have sent an email to you, entitled "Holdens" - just in case it goes to your junk mail.

Yes Kiterunner, You are correct with dates for Edmund and Richard. I have them correctly on my chart and screed but mixed them up in my haste to tell my findings. Oh dear !
