My OH's paternal grandmother, Ellen Rose Seldon (nee Gibbs) taken in about 1940, probably in Streatham, London. Nobody can remember the cat's name though!

My maternal grandmother (middle row far right) Florence Tivers (nee Carsons) and grandfather Harry Tivers (standing at the back on the right) taken in the back garden of their house at 33 Hambledon Road, Southfields, SW London in the late 1940s. I've no idea why Grandad was dressed up in his suit & dickie bow though! He was a bus conductor and his uniform certainly didn't include a bow tie.
Also in the photo are some of my grandmother's siblings and their spouses and children.

This is my paternal grandmother, Florence Elizabeth Mitchell, 1886 to 1959, taken in 1956. Florence was the mother of 14 children and also worked in the family butchers shop. She also did all the bookkeeping and hiring and firing of staff. She and her husband and family lived "over the shop" in Bristol. Her death certificate says she died of old age though she was only 73 - the doctor said her whole body was just worn out.
