Default Help reading name of witness please

http://search.ancestry.co.uk/Browse/...0907&rc=&zp=50

Thomas Hadrill and Mary Spriggs
I can't make anything sensible from the signature of the first witness. The same person seems to be the second witness on the preceding entry.

2nd witness is Ellen Robins, I think.

The first one looks like Thos. H. Hafold or Hapold. He might be a "serial signer" ie someone like a parish clerk who is available as a witness for weddings. Sometimes the same sig appears on page after page of weddings.

And Ellen Roberts also appears as a witness on the previous page, so she may have been a "serial witness" too.

Thanks Nell. I couldn't even make out where the surname might begin in that scrawl!

Checking the 1881for a Hapold/Hafold, I thnk it may be Hassold.

You're probably right re the serial signer.

Thanks Kite.
I don't know why my Hadrills never had any relatives at their weddings - so unhelpful of them
