An interesting link to an article about names, although it doesn't really coincide with my own researches. For instance, the author says that Ralph is a medieval name, but the Holden family used this name much earlier, rendered variously as Wolf or Hwraulf. I also have the unusual female name of Parnell, spelled in various ways and used in every generation for 5 centuries. I traced it back to a bride named Pernouille!

Considering that the word mediaeval / medieval is misspelled as medieaval and medieavel in the article about names, I'm not sure I put much faith in its accuracy.
