1921 census?
I honestly don’t have the energy to search for this sorry.
Is there a 1921 England census online? Can’t find it on Ancestry.

It's exclusively on Find My Past at the moment. It will have taken a colossal amount of time and effort to digitise and index, so I don't imagine Ancestry will have access for a little while.
Is there anything you want checked, Libby?

Thanks. It’s just one family if you have it or if someone else does.
In 1911, Samuel Baxter Melhuish, his wife, Edith Helen and two children Marjorie, aged 5 and Leslie aged 3. They are at Clee in Lincs. There should be another son, Donald in the 1921. I’d love to know if Leslie is still there. All these people have since passed on.

Thanks Merry. Donald is my sister in law’s father. He has passed away. Leslie married and had children but disappeared. They were into fishing and Leslie went into the merchant navy from memory. We have looked for him before on here, I’m sure.

In 1930 Leslie is a stoker in the Royal Navy and an absent voter.
The census says Samuel has three children, aged 15,13 and 6. The house is called Ivanhoe, but later becomes no 60

Thank you Phoenix. We heard he was in the merchant navy. Cannot find a death for him anywhere. He seems to have married, produced a couple of kids and vanished.

His Royal Naval record holds a clue to what might have happened.
Go to the TNA site: https://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/ and seach for Leslie Melhuish. If you haven't registered already, do so and you should be able to download the document for free.

Thanks. Will try now. I know I used to use them years ago so will probably need to start over.
