The Pearman family, Poplar 1841
George Pearman, a barge builder, and Sarah had several children in London:
Sarah b 1809 Lambeth George b 1811 St Alphege, Greenwich And, all in Poplar: Susannah 1813 John 1815 (died 1839) Eliza 1818 Elizabeth 1821 Jane 1824 I don’t know what happened to the children George or Sarah Eliza married Charles Thomas Smith, a waterman, 3 September 1840. They gave their address as Brunswick Street. I can find them from 1841 onwards Elizabeth married William Knighton 29 October 1843. They gave their address as 6 Denmark Street and the witnesses were Jane and her future husband George Myner. Susanna and Jane both married 24 August 1845 from 16 Denmark Street and Wliiliam Knighton was a witness to each Susanna married Robert Waters and Jane George Myner. In 1851, they are all living at 20 Blackwall. None of the marriages describe George as deceased, but I think he was. The mother Sarah went to live with her daughter Elizabeth. Baptisms and burials say no more than “Poplar”, so I only have the three addresses above. Somewhere on the 1841 census there should be Sarah Pearman b circa 1786, Susannah, Elizabeth and Jane. Can anyone spot them?
