23 May 1813 St Mary, Newington, Surrey to Jonathan Hawes. Jonathan signed, Harriot made her mark. Witnesses: William Williams & John Jones.


Occupation(s) - if any
None

Addresses where they lived (including county if in UK) –
1841/51 23 Pitfield St, Hoxton, Middx
1861: visiting friends William James & Maria Crisp in Ightham, Kent (Harriot's granddaughter and the Crisps' grandson, my great grandparents, were to marry in 1879)

Not known, general area of grave visited but it has reverted to woodland and is heavily overgrown. (And there are some odd characters about). Burial records show that in the same grave are her husband, daughter Sarah, grandson Henry John Staff and great grandson John Mautterer Staff

Yes, I was hoping for better...they feel a bit Welsh don't they - Davis, William & Jones, not that it helps! I've bought a will for a David Davis in the hope that he might have been her father but drat it, no.

If anyone needs the will of David Davis, Victualler of St Saviour, Southwark (wife Eleanor) just give me a shout.
