Sorry, Blaquiere Talbot, I had to delete your post because it was all about a living person with their details given, and thus broke our site rules.

Default Seraphina Donclere & Charlotte Hunter (Bevan)

I have now obtained from National Archives two large (single sheets each 15,000 kb) legal documents. Document 1 is Lottie's grandmother suing Colonel Hunter's executor for custody (he had put her in a boarding school aged 3!) and Document 2 is his response. Both are full of fascinating details but my computer screen is not large enough. Is there someone who can transcribe? If so I need to email them separately because of size. Richard. [email protected]

You can send it to the site email address ([email protected]) and I will have a look at it.

Seraphina's daughter Charlotte Hunter was a wealthy woman when she married Richard Bevan (of Barclay's Bank) when she was 21. She died in Brighton 27 May 1835 and was buried in Brighton 3rd June 1835. However I cannot find her will. Suggestions please!

Was her husband still alive when she died? If so then at that date, it is very unlikely that she left a will because it was before the Married Women's Property Act. You can search the Index to Death Duty Registers on Findmypast to see if there is an entry, just in case. Actually, even if her husband died before her, you would have to look at his will to see whether he left money to her or if it was in a trust or some such.
