Found a death for a Grace Harling in Bradford in 1870 - widow of William Harling - a farm servant so I think that's our Grace Ingleson.

That definitely looks like her.
Here she is in 1861: https://www.ancestry.co.uk/discovery.../10210646:8767 she's with her widowed daughter Jane Sandholm. And here she is in 1841: https://search.findmypast.co.uk/reco...1%2F0009646554 with William and her children Ann Sarah John Robert and Jane Hardisty

Sarah, John, Robert and Jane were all baptised in Knaresborough. In the later baptisms, place of birth is Starbeck, now a suburb of Harrogate. Father John is a bleacher - which suggests that he isn't the father of Jonathan, who gave his father's occupation as farmer.

FYI Ann married Thomas Margerson in Shipley in 1842:

Have been trying to find William, Grace and son William born 1838 Bradford - under names Harland Herling, Harling in 1851but no luck.
William senior dies before 1861 census. Phoenix you said he was a farm worker in 1851 Think I've found it transcribed as Carlon in Bowling, Bradford.

Ooh, well done, Julie! I couldn't find Grace anywhere, but Knaresborough makes sense as a birthplace, and the transcribers have ignored that first stroke of the H.
Not sure whether William was Grace's son or whether he might have been a grandchild of William's. Probably born before civil registration.

Without your help I would have got nowhere Phoenix.
Have found William's death in 1859 n Bradford - though age is way out 55 in 1841, 71 in 1851 and 80 in 1859 so still haven't found his birth and parents. Also found William Junior's death aged 4 in 1842 i Bradford. Yes William was William and Grace's son.
