I don't know much about this photo, but it seems to be a school group ( or maybe a Sunday School ) and I think it was taken in Cheshire in about 1928

This was in a collection of photographs belonging to my maternal grandmother 1880-1973.
No idea if she is on it or maybe her husband my grandfather 1883-1934. Or is it perhaps earlier than this and an earlier generation?

This one I have no idea at all.
Who is it? Where is it? Had she just graduated from university? It possibly has a connection somewhere to my OH's Stanbridge family. The pic was sent to me by fellow member of GF and a distant cousin of OH's Mike in Cumbria. He doesn't know who it is either, it was found in a collection of an aunt of his.

This is Sidcot school in Somerset which is a Quaker establishment. My grandfather and his siblings and many distant cousins attended as students and my great-grandfather was a schoolmaster there.
In 1908, when the picture was taken, my great aunt would have been a pupil, but I don't think she is in this picture, or if she is, not at the front! I can't think what they were doing was at all energetic!

It is the Oliver Whitby Bluecoat School in Chichester, though we don't know why it's in our family (from West Wittering about 7 miles away), nobody recognises anyone in the picture. It's a postcard style photo with a small rubber stamped label reading "The Westgate Studio, 40 West Street Chichester" on the back. I don' know the date, but would guess between 1910 and 1920. |

This is one I have of Stanton Drew school Somerset about 1895. The girl on the right with the long hair was my grandmother who was a pupil teacher at the school. This meant that bright girls could stay on past the school leaving age of 14 in exhange for helping teach the little ones. She had the same teacher at the village school for many years and he coached her to take her teaching qualifications and she was able to leave home after her mother's death from cancer when she was 18 to earn her own living. (click on the photo for a larger version). She is the lady in my profile picture as well. |

These photos are of Flempton School in Suffolk taken in the late 1920s. My dad Alfred Benjamin (Ben) Marsh is second from the right at the back and my aunt Jeannie Alice (Jean) Marsh is third from the right in front of him.
This was also my primary school and my first teacher had also taught my dad and aunt. |

These are the staff at Sidcot School, Somerset in the early 1880s. My great-grandfather, Henry Robert Clark, is in the second row, standing behind the woman in the dark skirt and light jacket.
