Findmypast has some John Spear burials in Devon but it doesn't give the parish for most of them on the index, so you would have to view the details to find out which if any are Sandford.

FamilySearch has a baptism for a John Spear at Sandford 21 May 1758, parents John and Elizabeth.

Thanks Kite. I have looked at a few burials on FMP, but I haven't got a subscription & my credits are fast running out! I think I might invest in some info from the Devon Family History Society, it will probably be cheaper in the long run.

I saw that baptism on Family Search, but I think it is too early for my John.
