Andrew Christie & Jean Archer
They were the parents of eleven children born at Fowlis Easter, Perthshire between 1778 and 1793 and Andrew is described as a meal miller on the death certificates of two daughters.
On the death certificate of their daughter Agnes in 1867, the undertaker is the informant and gives her mother as Agnes Archer but this is clearly an error. |

There is a baptism of an Andrew Christy in Fowlis Easter, 1 May 1743. Parents are Patrick Christie and Elspeth Kinnard.

Thank you Shona - I don't know why I've never seen that. The couples eldest daughter was Elspeth although there isn't a Patrick amongst the eleven I know of. Will look into this lot a bit more.

Abbreviations of Patrick and Peter can look similar in Scottish secretarial script. Is there a child named Peter?

I just came back on to say the same thing :-) The second son is Peter and I remembered this from another C18th Scottish family
