Who do you want to find mentioned in Thomas Bell's will?
I'll see what I can find.

Lib, We want to know that we have the right Thomas Bell. So if he mentions beloved wife Anna Maria .. we have a winner. Then if he is the Lieutenant in the Artillery, we might find out more about him through his enlistment?
Kate found "Another Google books snippet, from "Glimpses of Ancient Hackney and Stoke Newington": Again, another gravestone is to the memory of Thomas Bell, of this parish, a lieutenant in the Honourable Artillery Company, who died suddenly at the Armoury House, Finsbury-square, on the 23rd November, 1826, and who was, by command ... " I wonder if there are any copies of the book around?? Last edited by tenterfieldjulie; 10-03-13 at 02:03. |

Anna Maria Bell widow of Cambridge Heath, Bell Wharf, Regents Canal, Hackney wrote her will in 1832 and died in 1834. She names her nine sons and three daughters. She was most concerned about her youngest son Michael and there is quite a lot about her eldest daughter Elizabeth Clementson Bell making provision for him. It is not the easiest will to read but one of the first pieces of property she mentions are warehouses, so I'd imagine that she would have inherited them from Thomas. If I remember correctly Kate found a document where she and her eldest son Thomas Frederick dissolved a copartnerhip as coal merchants and I'd imagine that they would have inherited this from Thomas.
