Default Berkshire Parish Registers new on Ancestry

Baptisms, Marriages and Burials 1538-1812
Baptisms 1813-1925
Marriages and Banns 1813-1941
Burials 1813-1998

The Marriages and Banns does actually include some pre-1813 entries. Usually they put marriages from 1754 onwards into the separate file. Not sure why they haven't done it like that this time.

West Woodhay and Faringdon seem to have got muddled up, so if you are looking for an entry for one of those parishes and can't find it, try the other one!

I have been immersed in these for hours, attaching the images to people in my tree and finding others. Also, finding second marriages for wives and husbands who were widowed.

It's giving me a much clearer picture of the families I'm researching and also it is a lesson in the geography of rural Berkshire.

Having recently found ev[er]y godchild transcribed as Amy Godchild in a will, I wonder if AI is doing transcriptions now?

I thought I would have to renew my findmypast sub for these! I can see hours and hours of checking, to sort out my Terrells from Reading and A'Bears from Wargrave, as well as the Trumpletts from Hampstead Norreys !

Yes, I had a baptism for 1833 transcribed as 1853.
