Alfred Lorenzo ought to be one of mine, but sadly he is not. He was a miner from Bagworth who later moved to Rotherham and who died on 23 April 1915, like so many others, in France. A quick look on Ancestry suggests that Alonzo was not an unpopular name between 1840 and 1860, although as yet I have no idea why.
