Understandable. Although he could sent it special delivery to pretty much guarantee safe delivery. Or, a better option would be for your Dad to scan the photo for you.
The only issue with the photo you have uploaded is the size of the scan. Looking at the damage to the photo there's no problem in restoring the photo to its original state, we just need the scan to be the correct size so that when the photo it restored you can print it off at a decent size.
