I am a newbie to this site but just wanted to share my small success with someone (as usual OH isn't particularly interested).

I was typing my Gt Uncle's name into Google the other day and discovered he was the founder member of Torquay United FC. As I'm not a football fan by any stretch of the imagination this in itself wasn't particularly interesting to me but I carried on.

I discovered there was a book about the Football Club that was written by Laura Joint. Not coming from the Devon area I hadn't heard of her but apparently she is on local TV and radio. I googled her and found an email address so contacted her.

I am so excited because she has replied this afternoon saying she has information regarding my Gt Uncle, including photos, and will send them to me tomorrow.

I can't wait!!

I know it's only a small success but it all counts.
