Yes the colours work nicely but being aesthetically pleasing is not necessarily the way to go with restoration and when faced with the ambiguous (is that the word I need ?) then one has to make a decision.
There is always the dilemma ~ do we just go with what we can see, however bad it is, or try to resolve the mess
It's the same with colourising ~ the Victorians in particular often used odd combinations so all we can do is look at the tones and make an educated guess.
Colours and tones can be changed very easily so I guess it's really up to the owner of the photo to say what they fancy ~ but it's GREAT fun to play with colour combinations
