Babs

Is her husband Rancis or should it be Francis?

borobabs 02-07-12 20:35

Opps no Francis lol will change that

kiterunner 03-07-12 08:19

On FreeREG it says the marriage took place at Norton Cuckney, not Sutton in Ashfield, with the bride's parish as Cuckney. Witnesses Jos Tarleton and John Pitchfork. Also Cuckney on FamilySearch.

kiterunner 03-07-12 08:21

Presumably she lived at Scarcliffe in Derbyshire after her marriage to Francis?

borobabs 03-07-12 08:39

Opps yes Kate I copied over the wrong marriages place ;;thanks didnt have witnesses didnt have her living any place just her death in June 1850 which I forgot to mention ;;

I can't see a death registration Jun 1850, Babs - can you post up the full death reg info when you have time, please?

borobabs 03-07-12 23:03

Kate so sorry have done it again thats her husbands death date I havnt got one for Mary have possible sighting for her in 1841

Source Citation: Class: HO107; Piece: 861; Book: 7; Civil Parish: Sutton in Ashfield; County: Nottinghamshire; Enumeration District: 7; Folio: 41; Page: 18; Line: 1; GSU roll: 438907.

Think this is one you found for Samuel when I had him up

kiterunner 04-07-12 07:09

So this is the possible 1841 entry:
Forest Side, Sutton in Ashfield, Nottinghamshire
Samuel Revil 30 Stocking m Y
Elizabeth Do 25 N
Mary Revil 75 N
Maria Do 9 Y
Thomas Do 7 Y
Edward Do 2 Y

Says that Mary wasn't born in Nottinghamshire, though of course this could be wrong.

I doubt that the 1850 death registration is Mary's husband as the registration district is Nottingham. There is a Francis Revell birth in Nottingham Jan-Mar 1850 and I can't find that one on the 1851 census so I would think that is probably the one who died in 1850.

There are loads of possible death registrations for Mary (with various spellings of the surname) between 1841 and 1851 in Mansfield district, which would be the registration district for Sutton in Ashfield. Age at death wasn't on the index in those days so I don't know which one is most likely. But - Findmypast has a burial 27 May 1845 Mary Revill age 80, at Sutton in Ashfield.
