Roots
 

I used to think that leonardo dicaprio was 100% italian and could trace his roots only to italy. Was i wrong! I later found out he's german italian but had to assume that he was 100% italian because he only has an italian last name which means i also had to assume that his ancestors were originally from italy and nowhere else! I had to assume this assumption because of his italian last name. Again im assuming only.

His direct paternal line (ie the men all called Dicaprio) are Italian at least for the first few generations and probably before that too. The women they married may have come from anywhere, but if they all took the name Dicaprio it might seem they were all Italian to an outsider. Doesn't his mother have German heritage? She is now Mrs Dicaprio, so she sounds Italian!
