Link to the James Rice thread to see what we have already:

http://genealogistsforum.co.uk/Forum...ead.php?t=8057

Her name is variously given as Millicent, Melicent, Amelia, and Emily. She's on the censuses as Amelia or Emily Rice, born Palgrave, Suffolk, about 1788, and she was buried at Diss Cemetery 17 Nov 1870, age 83.

So her birth should be around 1787 - 1788 at Palgrave, Suffolk.

Oh, and her burial is on the other thread too:

She was buried at Diss Cemetery 17 Nov 1870, age 83.

Also on another thread there is this:

FamilySearch has a marriage listed 3 Sep 1815 at Diss between James Rice and Millicent Waller, but it is a "submitted" one. But it should be possible to check since there is an exact date given.

Do you know whether anyone ever looked it up?

Census info taken from the other thread:
1841 Amelia Rice age 50, female servant at Crown St., Diss, Norfolk, not born in county.
1851 Amelia Rice age 63 at Walcot Green, Diss, born Palgrave Suffolk.
1861 Emily Rice age 74 at Walcot Green, Diss, born Palgrave Suffolk.

Gosh Kate I had forgot about her being mentioned on these other threads so sorry should have altered it in ancestry instead of just FTM , that will teach me to use both at ones ;;

Okay, if you go onto the new FamilySearch site and go to where you can browse the England, Norfolk Bishop's Transcripts 1685-1941 and choose Norfolk -> Archdeaconry of Norfolk -> 1815 -> D-G -> Image 57 of 239, you should at last see the marriage entry for James Rice and Millicent Waller, at Diss.

James Rice of this parish single man and Millicent Waller single woman were married in this church by banns 3 Sep 1815, witnesses Henry Rice and Eleanor Waller.
